Elle Olivia Andersen. September 28th, 2014. Mozelle sits on her porch in a house her father built before she was born. Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina. Mozelle turns seventy-three this year. She has lived in Pickens her whole life. She worked at the Singer Company until it closed in 1988. She was named after a lady, Olive Mozelle, who was the head of the old Wilkes Hotel, after her mom became good friends with her and thought it was a beautiful name. Today, Mozelle likes to be called "Mo Mo" by her family and friends.

Elle Olivia Andersen. September 28th, 2014. Donnie holds one of his quails outside of his home in Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina. I met Donnie on the side of the road where he sells and trades pieces of scrap metal. After talking to him for a while, he began to take me around his home and show me his pigs and chickens and I met his wife, Pat. He was most excited about showing me his quails in which he says he owns fourteen peanut butter quails, five zebra quails and five snowflake quails. I asked him which were his favorite, he replied" All of 'em. They will lay eggs but will not set. But the ones in the wild will. These right here is wild as a buck. They get loose, they gone. I just got into collecting them, I don't know why I did".
